Dev Update #11
Hey wrestling fans,
I wanted to share some behind-the-scenes progress as I work towards a beta release of Heels vs Faces. The past few weeks have been a real milestone for the game's core, despite there being still a lot to do before anyone can play.
My big focus recently has been making sure all the main game actions, such as creating shows, managing your roster, and booking matches—happen instantly and directly on your device. No more waiting for servers or worrying about internet hiccups. When the game is ready, this should mean things feel snappy, reliable, and work smoothly even offline.
Why is this important? It sets the stage for the kind of experience I want to deliver:
- Speed: Changes happen right away, with no lag.
- Reliability: Your progress is saved locally, so you won't lose your booking work if your connection drops.
- Flexibility: Lays the foundation for a true cross-platform experience—one of my main goals for this project.
Behind the scenes, I took control of some key parts of the game's database tools, fixing bugs and customizing things to fit the wrestling management needs. I even leaned on a bit of AI to help refactor and speed up my work load.
There's still plenty ahead! The gameplay systems, interface polish, and all the fun features that will make the game unique. But hitting this local-first milestone means the core architecture is finally in place, and I'm genuinely excited for what's next as I keep building towards a release for everyone to try out.
